Go Ahead, Do Some Humble Bragging

Can you lift the ‘mask of modesty’ and let your talents shine through? Can you talk about your talents with humble pride? During the 1700s Russia’s Catherine the Great wrote how she had the ‘mind of a man’ but the ‘attractions of a loveable woman.” She added: “May I be pardoned for offering this candid expression of my feelings instead of trying to cover them with a veil of false modesty.” Well Catherine never struck me as being modest. But she sure wanted to sound like she was. Why? Your inner wisdom about people tells you it seems better if a compliment about you comes from another. That’s supposed to be the role of ‘modesty’. But why not bubble over with pride in what you have done? Your inner wisdom tells you there will always be some people envious of you. But, don’t forget to allow yourself to feel good about you, and the supportive people to keep cheering you on.

Remember, Minerva R Socrates is really the wisdom within you.

By researching past human behavior I find people who succesfully dealt with relationships in the family, at work, at school, everywhere.

I share those positive examples to show how they did it. And, if they did it, you can do it.

I love what I do - it helps you over one pebble or boulder at a time in your life.

I am passionate about my work - it makes good people, like you, stronger.
